Test-Measure.co.uk is a web site run by an independent consultant engaged by Thurlby Thandar Instruments Limited to sell a quantity of electronic instruments which are no longer current catalogue items or are otherwise surplus to requirements.

They are all unused, unsold instruments, mainly made by Thurlby Thandar Instruments Limited.  Other manufacturers' instruments appear on the lists because Thurlby Thandar represents (or represented) them in the UK.  The instruments have been carefully stored in a controlled environment and are all warranted to be in perfect condition.

In the last clearance in 2006-07 over 200 instruments were sold by Test-Measure.co.uk, about half via eBay and half directly from this site.  The eBay feedback was excellent and you can read it by clicking here and scrolling back to the period Jun-06 to Jan-08.

The site has ben dormant since early 2008 but is being broght back to life in November 2011 with a new batch of over 100 instruments.

The site holds information about the instruments including downloadable data sheets and specifications as PDFs (see full list).  The list is updated periodically as the stocks are sold.

The instruments are being offered for sale on eBay.co.uk (where my eBay member name is "snibbo") and they are also available for purchase direct from Test-Measure.co.uk - just click the "make an offer" link on the list page - that will create a blank email which you can edit before sending.  You can also mail us directly at sales@test-measure.co.uk.  Do not be afraid of making an offer - it doesn't become binding until we've agreed the price and you've sent the funds.

About the offers:

The instruments are being (or will be) offered for sale on eBay.co.uk at prices which are a fraction of their last published catalogue prices.  No VAT is payable on the agreed auction price.

Courier delivery to UK mainland addresses will be made from Thurlby Thandar, Huntingdon, Cambs, UK within 3 working days of receipt of payment through PayPal, or within 9 working days (normally fewer) of receipt of cleared funds in the case of payments made by cheque or bank transfer.

If you require shipment to a destination outside the UK mainland please email to determine the delivery options and costs.

Delivery to most countries can be arranged with parcel2go and other delivery companies at economical rates.

Shipments are normally covered against loss or damage up to GBP 50.00 and for most destinations you can purchase additional insurance as required.

Please note that the maximum weight for airmail is 2kg; above that, courier services are the only option.

If you buy more than one item there will nomally be a saving in the shipping costs.

Warranties:

Thurlby Thandar guarantees a return-to-base repair/replacement service valid for 90 days from the invoice date; details will be printed on your invoice.

A full refund will be made in the unlikely event of an instrument found to be "dead-on-arrival"; please report any deficiencies within 7 days of delivery.

Prices:

The list includes the last published manufacturer's price for the instruments offered.  For valid comparison purposes this includes UK VAT at 20%.  Since eBay purchasers normally expect that the price agreed in the auction is the tax-inclusive price to be paid, there are no additional charges apart from shipping and any extra insurance, if taken.

"Buy-it-now" prices (where shown) on eBay are a variable proportion of the last list prices, typically in the region of 25 to 65%.  The wide variation in this percentage accounts for the age of the instruments and their perceived value today. The guideline percentages above are provided purely in order to help you decide what price to offer.

UK shipping:

Prices are typically GBP 12.50 to 15.00 for items up to about 5 kg and up to GBP 20.00 for very heavy items.  Items below 1kg packed weight are normally delivered by post, larger items by overnight courier.  Deliveries all originate in Huntingdon.

Value-added tax:

Test-measure.co.uk is not registered for VAT, so the price to be paid for goods is the eBay auction ending price (or whatever price we agree in the case non-eBay sales) with no adjustments for VAT.  This applies regardless of where you want the item shipped to.

Import taxes:

Imports from the UK into non-EU countries may incur customs charges or local taxes.  The purchaser is responsible for the payment of any import taxes and handling costs incurred in the destination country.  Shipments to non-EU countries will be accompanied by two commercial invoices carrying a declaration that the goods are of preferential origin, where appropriate.
